Hello Glenunga Cricketers,
We’re barely into winter and we’re sending out a newsletter because registrations open very soon for the 2022/23 season!
The committee has been hard at work planning for next season with plenty to come.
Registrations
Junior and Senior registrations are slated to open on July 1st, and as usual, they fill up pretty quick! But we’ll send out an email once they open for all previous Junior and Senior players to sign up again before they become public. So keep your eyes ready in the coming weeks.
Merchandise and playing gear
Along with the registrations opening up, our merchandise portal through Nelson Teamwear will be open again to purchase gear, training shirts, playing shirts, caps and even some new stuff that’s being added this year!
Expressions of Interest – Junior Cricket
Are you able to help out our Junior teams this season? We’re always looking for help! We’ve already put the feelers out to last year’s Coaches and Volunteers to go again, but we’ll be looking for more Team Managers, Match Day Scorers and people who can help out on the day.
Annual General Meeting
The AGM will again take place just before the season kicks off on Tuesday, 13th September from 7pm, at the Webb Room in Glenunga Hub.
What happens at the AGM? We get the season underway by appointing the Office Bearers and Management Committee, and then we get into more planning for the season ahead. If anyone would like to be involved in some form please contact the club at social@glenungacc.com.au – We’ve plenty of tasks people can help out with, especially if you think you’re a social media gun we want to hear from you!
GCC Academy
This season will mark the introduction of a GCC Academy, with a focus on developing skills from our U14’s and up, once a month, to work with our Coach Sam Turner during the summer season. More information will be coming out in the months leading up to the season.
Senior Cricket
With demand coming from the Juniors through the ranks of the club we are fielding Two 2-Day teams, and Two 1-Day Senior teams this season. It’ll great to see some young keen cricketers into our senior games and develop their skills. Keep an eye out for more information on this soon.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months as we head into an exciting season of summer cricket!
Regards,
Alex Mathewson
